Accessing Full Text Articles in Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe

There are no direct links to full text articles held within Lexis-Nexis. You must run a search in the database in order to get the text of the article you need. Follow the directions below on how to search the Lexis-Nexis database:

Click on the link for "Full text available via Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe." This will start a session in the Lexis-Nexis database.

You will be taken to the "Sources" search screen within Lexis-Nexis. The name of the newspaper you need (in this example, the New York Times) will already be entered as the search. To proceed, click on the link for "Search this Title," near the bottom of the page.

Another Lexis-Nexis search screen will appear. Inside the first box under "Step Three: Enter search terms," type the title of the article you need (in this example, "Internet is losing ground in battle against spam"). Under "Step Four: Narrow to a specific date range," change the choice from the default "Previous 6 months" to "All available dates." Then click the Search button at the bottom of the form.

Your desired article should appear. Click on the title to read the text of the article.

Once you have displayed the article on the screen, use your browser's Print option to print a copy, or click on the "Email" button, located near the beginning of the article, to send a copy to your email account.
