Breakout Sessions/
Contributed Papers
Greetings!
CARL’s 12th biennial conference will take place April 2-5, 2008 at the Hyatt Regency in Irvine. The theme for this year is "Going Global: Academic Libraries in the Age of Globalization" < http://www.lib.csusb.edu/carl/carl2008.html>. Breakout sessions and presented papers are scheduled for April 3 – 5, 2008.
The CARL Conference Breakout Session Committee invites proposals from all CARL members and interest groups.
Breakout Sessions/Presented Papers Guidelines
Traditionally, breakout sessions reflect the interests of academic librarians in a variety of areas, which can include reference services, information literacy instruction, digital library collections, cataloging, and more. Building upon last year’s success, CARL is also soliciting proposals for Presented Papers, which expound upon presenters’ research interests.
All breakout/presented paper session proposals will be peer-reviewed. The Breakout Session Committee may choose to conditionally accept proposals pending responses to suggested revisions and collaborations by the committee.
Proposals should contain the following information:
Proposals are due by Friday September 28, 2007. Notification of accepted proposals will begin October 26, 2007.
Please send proposals via electronic mail to Stephanie Brasley (sbrasley[at]calstate.edu). In order to facilitate receipt of proposals/presented papers, in the SUBJECT LINE, please put: “CARL Breakout Proposal.” Also, name your file in this way: Last name of main contact person in upper-case, space, and the word “proposal” in lower case.
