Public Services

As a state supported institution, the Library at CSU San Bernardino is open to the general community (see Library Hours).  The Library's print, microform, and electronic resources are available for on-site use to individuals in the general community  who physically visit the Library. Members of the general community who wish to borrow materials may choose to join the Library Associates. Members of the general community who also are currently enrolled students at local area colleges may borrow materials through the Inland Empire Academic Libraries Cooperative (IEALC) program. This card is free of charge to students; however, the card must be obtained from the home campus library. CSUSB students should visit the Library's Circulation Desk and, with the display of proof of current enrollment status, may obtain an IEALC card. Current CSUSB Faculty may obtain borrowing and use privileges to specific local university libraries by visiting the Circulation Desk, displaying proof of current faculty status, and filling out a form.

For a list of Library services available to current CSUSB Faculty, see Services to Faculty.  For a list of Library services available to current CSUSB Students, see Services to Students.

Due to contractual licensing agreements with vendors, off-campus access to the Library's electronic resources is restricted to currently-enrolled CSUSB students and current CSUSB faculty and staff.

The Library at CSU San Bernardino has been granted U.S. Government Document Depository status by the federal government.  This means that it is required by law to provide equitable access to the federal government document resources in its collection to the general public.  For more information, see Government Docs.

Questions and/or comments regarding Library Public Services may be directed to the Head of Public Services.  A complaint form is also available.
