You may make an appointment with a librarian to come to your office to give you one-on-one training and assistance with library resources and services. Just contact the librarian subject specialist in your discipline.

Faculty Workshops

Databases are constantly being updated with new features to meet the needs of students and researchers. Librarians track these changes so you don't have to. You can schedule an informal workshop for 3 or more of your colleagues, and a librarian will demo the additions and improvements to the online resources in your discipline. We can also give you suggestions for how to integrate these resources into your assignments. The workshops can be scheduled in your lab or ours. Contact Barbara Quarton to set up a workshop.

Library Instruction for Your Class

Librarians are acutely aware of the issues faculty face as a result of California's budget problems. Time and energy are in short supply. We have revised our instructional services to make it faster and easier for you to introduce your students to research.

We offer self-paced online tutorials, customized Blackboard resource pages, and librarian lectures in your smart classrooms. All of these options will save you time and effort while giving your students a foundation in information literacy.
